Love: That I might belong... even to myself
(The Presence Of The Universe)

Love is not an emotion, nor is it a state of affection toward someone or something. It can best be thought of as a state of understanding. In this state of understanding everything is seen for what it truly is. Everything is seen as perfect, in complete harmony with everything else.

Of course, the State of Love can give rise to other things, such as peace (which is a passive, quiet, love), joy, and affection.

What man calls love is a condition which arises upon the mutual satisfaction of needs. When two individuals are fulfilling each other's needs, a bond is created between them. This bond is felt inwardly; Man calls it love, but we call it the mutual satisfaction of needs.

The following will help us to better understand the nature of love:

While love is not an emotion, it does parallel the emotions. While the emotions amplify things, make things worse, make things larger, love makes things larger and more aware, but it does so without changing any of the volumes, any of the intensities--without distorting the situation.

If one becomes caught in an emotion, say anger, that emotion becomes a Steering Current which can grow so powerful that it can be difficult to break free. That anger will make the situation seem worse than it actually may be. The emotion has amplified and distorted the situation.

Love is better called a magnifier rather than an amplifier. With love, one can go through various situations and various scenarios with understanding. Because this is possible, one can better see what is really happening.

Once love becomes present in any given situation, or in any given scenario, he who plays the role with love, because of the presence of love, can better see all of the intricacies of the role without actually changing the role at all. This is impossible with the emotions. Love magnifies what is, so that one can better see and understand what is. It allows one to have an understanding heart to a much greater degree than one who does not have love.

It is important to understand the difference between emotions, conditions, and states.

With the exception of the phenomena called feelings (the logical communication which comes from an individual's Ba), emotions are, one hundred percent of the time, negative. They are negative because they distort and therefore one can no longer understand what is transpiring. They distort in all ways, under all conditions.

Still, if one is on Earth, they are going to feel emotions. The best that can be done is to rechannel this emotional energy. The objective should not be to suppress the emotions. Rather, one should strive to act logically even though the emotions are present. That is, never make a decision or perform a behavior based on your emotions, always use logic.

There are five basic emotions. The five basic emotions are:

  1. Greed,
  2. Fear,
  3. Anger,
  4. Death,
  5. Loneliness.

All other emotions are either compositions of the above five or faces of one of the five. Hate, for example, is one of the faces of anger.

1. Greed: Greed is really the driving force of what makes Man's world go around (many people think money is what makes the world go around, while others think that sex is what makes the world go around). Without greed there would be no businessmen. Without greed there would be no one willing to lead, there would be no politicians, therefore, no governments. It is the negative side of the continuum of greed that spawns all crime, and, it is the positive side of the continuum of greed that gives us new discoveries.

2. Fear: Of all the emotions, Fear is Man's greatest enemy. It is the cause of most, if not all, of Man's wars. More important, however, it is fear that prevents the individual from truly recognizing that it is his value-system that is at the center of his pain. It is fear that drives his prejudices, and, it is his prejudices that cause much of his strife in his everyday life.

3. Anger: Anger is Man's most destructive emotion because it distorts the truth of what Man sees, not only in himself but also in others. It is the driver for the process of rationalizing his wars.

4. Death: Death is the strangest emotion that Man has to deal with. It is the only emotion that serves as Man's greatest harpy--it constantly causes Man to come face to face with his own mortality (most individuals cannot bear facing judgment in the afterlife), so he goes to great lengths seeking ways to avoid the possible judgment that he knows, inwardly, will come as a direct result of his many deeds and misdeeds. Thanks to Man's religions, the emotion death is the most feared because of the confusion between the faces of fear that is usually experienced while contemplating our own death and the emotion that is called death that is only experienced when an emotional relationship is ending, Do not mistake the faces of fear with the emotion called Death. The emotion called Death is a mixture of many feelings that are so tightly woven together that it is difficult to determine where one ends and another begins. Among other feelings, the emotion called death is a mixture of the seven stages of grief, mixed with the greed of the loss of the interaction and the loss of the things that will no longer be available because of the ended relationship, mixed with the anger that the relationship has ended too quickly, mixed with the regret that you did not have the chance to do certain things, to say certain things that would allow forms of closure, mixed with a type of loneliness that cannot be explained away. When an individual is experiencing the emotion death, the only exit is to deal with the seven stages of grief.

5. Loneliness: Loneliness is the greatest steering current. Man's history teaches us that there is almost nothing that Man will do to avoid being alone.

What the people of Earth generally consider positive emotions such as happiness, love, joy, etc. are not emotions. They are more correctly termed conditions. They are dependent upon the interaction of the individual's Karma and Freedoms with the influence of the role in the scenario. They do not distort, or if they do, they do so only in the vein of excessiveness, or fanaticism. They can be used to contact the State of Love. They are nonemotional amplifiers, but cannot be considered true magnifiers.

While it may be easy to see why we say that hate, greed, and other emotions are always negative, it may be a little more difficult to see why the conditions such as happiness and love are also negative.

The best way to understand this is to look at it from Creation's point of view. From that point of view, man has descended to a very low level of reality. Also, from that point of view Man's biggest task must be to regain his original Godlike state.

The conditions can be a hindrance in this task--the task of freeing oneself from the Maya. This is because they can cause one to be content, to be complacent, to be satisfied with Life the way it is. While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with this, if a man becomes lost in it, he will not be concerned with freeing himself from Maya. Thus, to us, whose biggest task is freeing ourselves from Maya, the conditions would have to be considered negative. At best, the conditions would be considered only potentially negative. Careful monitoring can minimize or remove the negative factor.

Due to the nature of Creation, if you are a human being, then you are definitely going to experience emotions. It is one of those things that is included in the process of descent. Still, you have the choice of what game to play. Will you feel Love or will you feel hate? Will you feel happy or will you feel sad?

While it is true that from the viewpoint of escaping Maya all of the above are bad, happiness and love, the ones that most humans would consider positive, are less destructive. Their trap comes only when a man loses himself to their temptations--when he indulges in them excessively. Their negativity comes from the creation of satisfaction, or of a seeming contentment which causes the individual further bemusement to the degree that the individual actually wishes to remain on that level of the trap of Maya--because of his, however temporary, contentment.

Emotions, contrary to what many humans think, do not have the same source as thoughts. Emotions are most properly seen as a force which man evokes, while thought is almost synonymous with Man. After all, Man is the image of the MindForce, and what is Mind if not thought?

Emotions are a force which is evoked when the individual's desires come into conflict with the limitations of his illusion. The best way to determine the difference between the two is to understand the following relationship: Thoughts are the product of mind as Emotions are the product of the physical body. They are an interaction between thought and the reality in which the individual finds himself.

Perhaps a good example of this would be frustration. It is very easy to see that frustration arises when the world around us is not conforming to our wishes. The conflict is, however, the root of all emotions, not just frustration. Of course, a positive emotion (a condition) arises when the individual's desires are in conformity with the limits of his illusion. However, the emotions (the chemical changes which occur within an individual's physical body which are caused by the interaction of the communication between the individual's MindForce, his seat of awareness, and the present role within which he is acting out with respect to the present illusion) are still due to the interaction between the reality and the individual's psyche.

There is another aspect of emotions, which we call the emotions interchange. The emotions interchange is that aspect of emotions which deals with mobility.

Mobility implies power--the power to move, the power to decide, the power to change things, or whatever power is necessary. Thus, since the source of all power is Recursive Dialusion, mobility must also have its source in Recursive Dialusion.

Now, when an individual has a thought, and decides to put that thought into action, mobility, and thus power, is necessary. There is a certain point in the decision making process when an individual, knowingly or unknowingly, evokes this power. The individual evokes the power of Recursive Dialusion.

We call this evocation process the emotions interchange. The interchange is between Recursive Dialusion and Maya. Now, when an emotions interchange becomes present, via the Emotions Interchange Interface, the human feels a sensation. We call those sensations feelings--because they are emotions which have data attached to them. In the normal course of actions and decision making, the sensation of these emotions is slight--it is safe to say that many humans are unaware of the fact that every thought carries with it a corresponding emotional interchange and resultant feeling. This is true because it takes mobility to move anything and that includes to move from one thought to another.

When an individual's desires come into conflict with the limitations of his illusion, however, watch out! Now you enter the realm of what man understands emotions to be, and we all know the strange behaviors that emotions can drive one to.

Example: You see a pretty woman and you want to have sex with her. Well, in today's society, it is just not acceptable to force sex on a woman whenever you feel the need. That desire right there, coupled with the logical understanding that you cannot fulfill that desire without serious ramifications, may, depending on the stability and the understanding of the individual, unleash a flood of unpleasant emotions.

The very thought of sex, itself, evoked the mobility to make the act possible. The logic restrained the individual from using that mobility. Still, power, once evoked, must serve the purpose for which it was evoked or destroy that which evoked it. Thus, in this case, the mobility is spent in some other way, such as an emotional fit, or perhaps some more logical act, like a cold shower.

So our new understanding is that the emotions interchange is a process of evoking mobility, via the Emotions Interchange Interface, and the phenomena called feelings are a resulting sensation, be it controlled or uncontrolled.

Since mobility is a necessary thing, it is obvious that the emotions are necessary, too. Perhaps we could call them a necessary evil. So, the goal is not to abolish the emotions, but to understand and control them, to use the emotions and the phenomena called feelings as a tool necessary to evoke mobility, and not as a force to be reckoned with.

One must not confuse the State called Love with the seeming emotion that man calls love. The seeming emotion that man calls love is really just the condition where a mutual satisfaction of needs exists.

Love, as we have said before, is a true State. There are only three States. They are as follows:

  1. Love (the moment to moment contact with the prime forces which gives power to the Universe);
  2. Matter (Matter is usually known to be in three states--solid, liquid, and gas);
  3. Law (the moment to moment interplay between a creation and the laws which created and maintain said creation).

1. Love. The State of Love is the only State that is totally unconditional. It is also the only state that is recognized only among living beings--by animated life-forms. In humans, there is a parallel feeling called a condition. It is called a condition because the specific feeling is dependent upon the person, the place, the thing, and/or the situation. If any of the above mentioned parts are changed, the internal feeling will change. The state of Love, however, is unchanging regardless of the time, the place, or the specifics of the A Happening.

All States are either magnifiers, or absolute controllers. All States are incorruptible and all-encompassing. States cannot be described adequately. They must be experienced in order to understand their true nature.

I AM THAT I AM

Love is the Universe. Love can not be created or generated in any way, for it already exists. Love waits always, waiting for an invitation to enter the individual's awareness. The only way to find Love is to be possessed by it. Love exists within itself, for itself and of itself. It is, in fact, the great I AM THAT I AM.

An individual can never find Love if he is at war with any aspect of the Universe. An individual can never find the state of love if he concerns himself with anything that furthers his concerns above those of the species to which he belongs. An individual can never find the state of love if there is worry within him.

To find the state of love the individual must honor the judgment of the Universe. He must honor all aspects of the Universe--both, those he finds good and those he finds bad. Both, those he finds entertaining and those he finds dull. For each exists; and, as such is part of the whole. All are links in the chain. None is more important than any other. To disdain any part of Creation is to disdain the whole, and thus drive love away.

It matters not what game is played, or what game is not played. All that matters is that the individual honor that game as a sacred link in the great chain of beings.

He who seeks his limitations shall surely find them. Seek always to see the creative aspects in the mundane. Honor your awareness, whether that awareness be focused on the awesome or be focused on the mundane.

It is said that only Love can show us the peaceful road into the future... Although it is written that it is Time that heals all wounds... Indeed, if the truth were to be made known, it is the coming of Love in its own Time that teaches the healing process that hides the pain.

It is said that we hide from Love for fear of the pain that often comes with the burden of Love... Yet, we spend much of our time seeking the benefits of Love's presence.
