Rites Of The Donning
(after The Cleansing but before Rising sun)

Make sure that you are completely dry;

If under-garments are to be worn, make sure they are white. There must not be any other color but white next to the body.

The color white represents The White Feather, symbol for an individual's Maat.

On still another level of understanding, the color white represents the snow which covers the world of Man during The Night Of The Long Sleep. As, during the night of the long sleep, the vigil of the lone pine is surrounded by the snow [the symbol of the temporary Death which holds The Great Force in the arms of sleep] of winter, so, too, he who performs the Rites of The Donning must surround himself with the white of winter's snow; that he, too, may keep vigil over life's essence whilst the Life-Force rests in the arms of Death.

Again, on another level of understanding, the color white represents a time of rest before passing into the next reincarnation. As we know that the winter's snow will pass, bringing the fullness of spring, so, too, our present state of imperfection will also pass, as our pure thoughts helps bring forth our higher self.

After the under-garments have been donned, slowly, as you meditate upon the following affirmation, put on a plain white robe.

"Homage to thee, O Great Master of all truths. I am come to thee O Great Force Of All Forces, and have brought myself hither, that I may become conscious of thy decrees [that I may come to know the laws of Creation] I wish to know thee, and wish to attune with thee Maat! In truth I have come for attunement, bring Maat in my mind and in my Ka's Ka.

"I have destroyed wickedness for thee;

"I have not oppressed members of my family;

"I have not done evil to Mankind;

"I have not wrought evil in the place of right and good;

"I have no intimacy with worthless men;

"I have not demanded first consideration;

"I have not decreed excessive labor be preformed for me;

"I have not brought my name forward for exaltation to honor;

"I have not defrauded the oppressed;

"I have willingly made no man to suffer hunger nor thirst;

"I have made no one weep with intent;

"I have willingly caused no pain to be inflected on man nor beast;

"I have not defrauded the temples of their obligations;

"I have not diminished from the bushel;

"I have not set hand upon that which was not mine;

"I have not encroached upon the fields of others;

"I have, with my best intent, given all their proper due;

"I have not turned back the waters when they should have flown;

"I have not extinguished the flame when it should have burned;

"I have not repulsed The Creations in any rightful manifestation;

"Make me pure! I am pure! I am part of thee.

"My purity is that of thy holy temple.

"Therefore, evil shall not follow me in this world, because I, even myself, know thy laws of Karma which are good unto all things.

"Cro-Maat."
