Ego: The Continuum of Self
( The Ego vs. The Excessive Ego)
While it is obvious to most of us that the emotions are a fact of life, it is not so obvious to most of us that the TwinSpecies:Human--the sub-species male and the sub-species female operates in only two states--sharing or excessive ego. That is correct. It's either the one or the other. Still further, it is often difficult to discern just when one begins and the other leaves off. In fact, it was thought by the ancients that Man had only one emotion--Excessive Ego-- and all the other feelings within Man were the many faces of Excessive Ego.
Again, if we were to accept that Man's single emotion of Excessive Ego was, in and of itself, a continuum, a continuum wherein each point of the continuum manifests itself in Man as a different feeling, and, if we were to accept that the physical aspect of Man is nothing more than a chemical factory, a chemical factory that often is modified by the interaction between the different parts of self, then we must follow the pattern of duality, wherein each individual is divided into only two parts--The Inner World and The Outer World.
Often, especially in Man, the special placental-type barrier which separates an individual's inner world and the outer world malfunctions; such that it allows the goings on of the outer world to modify the happenings of the inner world. It must be remembered that an individual's inner world is resident for that individual's special set of values, that individual's relative truths [which gives a sense of reality to the chosen values], and, that individual's Maat [Maat is that very special aspect of inner truth that is forever unchanging while all other unchangeable truths about him are in the process of change. It is the seed for that individual's stability, with respect to truthfulness within reality, regardless of the ever changing situations and their also ever changing needs]. The outer world, on the other hand, is the stage upon which is fought the on going battle where any two or more individuals meet to have an interchange [that interchange could be as simple as saying hello as they pass one another on a street, or as complicated as the interaction of a psychologist with a client]. In any case, it is The Continuum Of Self that is in control of every individual, regardless of the type of interaction that may take place [the interchange may take place either in the individual's mind or upon the stage of reality].
The Continuum of Self has The Ego as one pole and The Excessive Ego as its opposing pole. It must be remembered that there is an important difference between The Ego and The Excessive Ego. The Ego is an intricate part of the individual. It must be protected at all times; it must be allowed to grow at its own pace. The Excessive Ego is that portion of the individual which strives only to serve itself. While The Ego is a necessary part of the mind and must be preserved, The Excessive Ego must be destroyed. If an individual possesses wisdom, it is possessed by the individual's Ego. If the individual is possessed by seeming stupidity or pig-headedness, be assured that these qualities are furnished by Excessive Ego.
The sadness of Man's experience is that Man has not yet learned that Love can only be experienced when The Excessive Ego is absent. The Excessive Ego prevents any type of lasting relationship because it cannot and it will not freely share anything with anyone. The classical condition wherein Excessive Ego is present is that of a power-trip. It is the insistence on fulfilling The Excessive Ego's demands that keeps the majority of the species Man trapped in the stubbornness of his own way.
One of the better ways of understanding Man's emotions is to gain a better understanding of just what is happening within the individual when such feelings are present. Basically, emotions are the physical body's chemical changes which give the individual the ability to feel truth inwardly without the use of symbols.
Emotion, in and of itself, is a continuum which gives the individual life-form that very special aspect of creation which gives rise to volition [free-will] within the Ka [The Ka is the Lemurian/Egyptian label for every part of the physical body, as a whole].
Still, on another level of the Magic Circle, the Emotions are the thoughts, the internal deeds of the Ba [The Ba is the Lemurian/Egyptian label for the different aspect of the individual's higher selves], which, when transmitted across the Emotional Interchange Interface [Emotional Interchange Interface is that very special connection between an individual's world of illusion and an individual's many states of reality], become the chemical changes that are interpreted as the different feelings that are experienced during any given situation, the different internal deeds of the Ka, which give rise to the many different states of satisfaction during any given interchange [these states of satisfaction are not limited to a situation wherein the individual is with another; as the same laws apply when the individual is having an interchange with himself]. And, the interaction of the individual's twin continuum--the continuum of acceptability and the continuum of belief/trust.
As an individual's thoughts are a by-product of the presence of the Ba, so, too, the individual's emotions are the by-product of the presence of the Ka. As an individual's thoughts are the basic language of the Ba, so, too, an individual's emotions are the basic language of the Ka.
Still, from another more physical point of view, there is more to the emotions than can be understood at first glance. Every life-form has some form of emotion. It might not be the same exact experience as humans have, but it is an emotional experience nonetheless.
To begin, let's make three blanket statements.
In the first blanket statement we used the term a changing state of emotions because there are, at the very least, five different threads of creation involved in the creation of any given life-form's script-of-life. Also, the first four threads are always in contest with one another; and, the first four threads are individually in contest with the fifth thread. The five threads of creation that make up a life-forms' script-of-life are as follows:
1. Karmic assignment via The Alliance of The Rule. When a life-form descends into the Earth Experience, it does so by law; specifically, the descent process places many different limitations upon the life-form. The most important, because it is the most far-reaching of all the limitations, is that of having to serve as another life-form's pawn if and/or when called by the circumstances of the A Happening of the moment. This becomes important from the emotion's Excessive Ego point of view because it is the cause of much frustration in the life-form's life. There is hidden within this thread of creation another thread which is designed to keep the life-form trapped upon the Earth Experience, thereby fulfilling the warning upon the door of Earth which states: Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
2. The need to satisfy the chemicals of the life-form's Ka. When a life-form enters the Earth Experience, it does so by descending into what we call a physical body. This physical body is nothing but an electro-chemical device that is designed to be some what self repairing; that is designed to have a certain degree of mobility; that is designed to have a somewhat limited awareness factor; that is designed to give the life-form the most complete set of experiences within a specified set of limitations possible, given the life-form's Karma. This, in and of itself, does not mean that all will be perfect. The pivot point is the life-form's Karma. When the needs, either electrical in nature or chemical in nature, are not sufficiently met, the life-form experiences different stages of frustration--a feeling akin to war, a natural state for Excessive Ego.
3. Satisfaction of the needs of the life-form's physical environment. When a life-form descends into a physical body, that physical body automatically has certain limitations which are placed upon it by the physical environment. Example:
Where on the food-chain are they?
A great deal depends upon the above answers with respect to the special needs that fall upon the life-form, special needs which come directly from the life-form's environment. Again, if these needs are satisfactorily fulfilled, all is well for the life-form; if not, a type of limitation exists for that life-form that will, again, bring different stages of frustration--a feeling akin to war. This special frustration source only serves to heighten the excessive's need to control others as a possible method of learning to control the rest of its environment.
4. Satisfaction of the life-form's true needs, with respect toward food, water; security, shelter; love, closeness; need to experience, need to expand awareness; need for self actualization, need for self satisfaction. When a life-form descended into a physical body, the body that they descended into gave the life-form a very specific set of needs.
However, the limitations of those needs are such that one cannot be fulfilled until the needs that came before it were fulfilled. Example: the most important need for that physical body is the need to sustain it, thus, the need for food and water. If this need is not satisfied, the next need, the need for security and/or shelter cannot be satisfied. It is thus for every true need that belongs to the life-form's physical body. If each of the relative needs are in turn satisfied, all is well for the life-form's physical, and, therefore the life-form's psychological states, indeed, for the life-form itself. However, any dis-satisfaction along any point of the chain of needs for the physical body will bring changing states of frustration--a feeling akin to war. Again, if an individual has problems along Excessive Ego, its seed stems with the dissatisfaction of the coding of [as opposed to the presence or the absence of] the presence of love, and, the presence of a dissatisfaction of the coding of [as opposed to the presence of] a suitable system of self rewards, leading to the need to excessive control every interchange as a way of seeking to satisfy the stability factor within the interchange of the continuity of trust vs. the continuity of love. In this sense, excessive ego becomes The Bully [the harpy] that torments such that it becomes difficult to accept the joy of success without turning to the opinion of a seemingly trusted other.
5. Satisfaction of the life-form's free-will. As is usually the case, when a life-form descends into the Earth Experience, it descends into a physical body of some sort which, itself, has a life's script to contend with. This means that the life-form will often be called upon by other life-forms to become a pawn in their games [sometime it is a service that might be needed, sometime it is a case wherein the individual must allow another to serve by taking care of the pawn's need(s)]. If and when this occurs, it will cause the respective life-form to stop living his preferred life's script to live another's life's script; and, in so doing, causing unwanted, unexpected Karma to further limit its own life's script. As such, the individual's hopes and dreams don't always get to be satisfied. This will most certainly bring about changing degrees of frustration--a feeling akin to war. Often, the enlisted pawn will react by expressing all frustrations upon the pawn's caller by seeking to excessively control all interchange in the hopes of being released sooner.
As can be seen by all five of the threads that go into the creation of any given life-form's A Happening, changing degrees of frustration seems to be the basic state of feeling. With the above understanding, it is easy to understand why the basic law of The Earth Experience seems to be Kill and Be Killed, Eat and Be Eaten.
It is important to realize that regardless of the special set of conditions which brought about the emotion, it is not the presence nor the absence of the specific emotion during the A Happening that eases the pain which the emotion brings; it is, in fact, the process of finding an acceptable solution [acceptable to the life-form that is feeling the pain in question] to the problems of the moment that eases the pain that emotions forces the life-form to contend with. In the case of The Excessive Ego, there are three acceptable exercises which can help:
When the life-form we call human is caught in his emotions, something has usually happened that set him off. It becomes important to understand that it is not the process of satisfying one's emotion, in and of itself, that often causes harm, it is the choices that are made during the process of satisfying the emotions at hand that is the cause of the harm. The actual process, itself, is neither positive nor negative. It is the choices of how to satisfy which moment of the A Happening's emotion that causes possible harm. In the case of Excessive Ego, it is the feeling that "I'm the only one who really cares!" or, the thoughts "If I don't do this myself, it's going to get messed up! Why is it that I'm the only one who can do it right!"
The pivot point of possible harm becomes the acceptability of the choices which are chosen within the limitations and the taboo of the society that the life-form lives in. The harm that is caused comes from the rejection factor coming from the individual, himself, and from the society in general. In the case of Excessive Ego, the harm comes from the perceived seemingly over-loaded work schedule and the inability to satisfactorily delegate control of any task to others; and/or, the inability to recognize the needs of the political necessities within any given organization--the taking of credit for subordinate's work.
In most cases, individuals feel that there must be a reason why people feel the need to satisfy their emotions. This is not the case. The thinking process of having some type of behavior coming from others as the cause for the need to satisfy is somewhat backward. It is the lack of homeostasis within the physical body that causes the individual to feel the need to satisfy the urge of the moment. The following is an example.
If an individual speaks to another thusly, "Jimmy, you're a raving jackass," all that the speaker did was to make a disturbance in the medium of the air that was between them. If Jimmy did, indeed, feel anything, it was not the speaking of the words in question that caused the actual feeling--it was the chemical imbalance that Jimmy created within his body [because of the values held at the time] that created the presence of the emotions.
Under any given set of circumstances, there are always at least three threads happening at the same time.
The first is a bit tricky because there are judgments of "What Should be" and judgments of "What I want there to be" involved. It is the interaction of the individual's shoulds vs. the individual's wants that is interacting with the needs of the moment and the interaction of the state [the psychological state, the physical state, and/or the emotional state] of the individual in question during any given moment of interaction.
The second is the interaction between the individual's values [what is right and what is wrong] and the interaction of his environment, or the interactions of the values of the company he is keeping.
The third is the interaction between the individual's needs of the moment [due to the necessity of the physical] and the interaction of what is required to satisfy the emotion at hand [due to the psychological nature of the individual].
One of the problems encountered with understanding just how interactions, in and of themselves, becomes a cause to a new effect is that all interactions are, or soon become, transparent to the pilgrim that is experiencing the A Happening. Further still, the presence of the emotional state is nothing more than a reflection of the interactions of different chemicals within the physical body, with respect to a natural balance between the chemicals in question. Quite often the balance in question is not a true balance--it is a specific ratio of one chemical to another.
It must be remembered that pain is a continuum unto itself; in that, each point along the continuum is perceived as being either a different emotion, or a different need which requires the individual life-form's attention. With respect to the actual or imagined pain, however, the perceived intensity of the pain which the individual life-form must endure is a reflection of the urgency of the moment [how urgent is the need for recognition, food, water, or some other need] or, the continuum of acceptability with respect to the individual's continuum of values, with respect to the individual's continuum of shoulds vs. wants, as the individual interacts with the needs of the A Happening during any given moment, and, with respect to the specific purpose being served during any given moment of one or more A Happenings.
It must be remembered that because of the nature of the life-form called Man, during the creation of the pattern of Man [the interaction of Man's inner world vs. the interaction of Man's outer world], the Continuum of Pain [wherein each point of the continuum is perceived as either a different emotion or a need that requires attention] was used as a thresh-hold type barrier between Man's conscious and Man's unconscious states of being [because of the interaction between Man's autonomic system and Man's voluntary system], and, between Man, the individual, and the need for the impetus for change in Man, himself. Hence, the statement of the law "When the pain gets big enough, you'll change."
There is a seeming perception of time in any given change. This is present because of at least two factors. First, it is present because a claim of change has been made when, in fact, it has not been made; second, it takes time for an individual's [because of the stability factors within the body] kidney and liver to remove the undesired chemicals that remain, and/or it takes time for the necessary glands to create and inject the desired chemical into the individual's blood-stream.
It must be remembered that each individual never learns to feel. That ability comes with the limitations of the physical body. The individual is born with the ability to feel, but it is not born with the mental aspect of feeling--the interpretations of the feeling are learned at the same time as the application of one's language is learned during the process of assigning definitions to people, to places, to things, to likes, to dislikes, and to emotions as life introduces us to the many different situations which are but a part of our script-of-life. In the case of Excessive Ego, the lessons are misinterpreted, purposely confused, or totally absent.
There are many states of beingness in the cosmos. The Earth Experience is that place wherein the pilgrim Ka goes to experience Emotions in all their glory. It is the special tasks of all who descend upon the Earth Experience to come to know the nature of Emotions, that they [the individual] may prevent the emotions from taking control of their life's script. The pilgrim who has descended into the Earth Experience will not be able to leave the Earth Experience until they have, indeed, mastered their emotions. They must move the power of volition from the negative pole of the continuum of Self [The Excessive Ego] to the positive pole of the continuum of Self [The Ego].
In the process of learning, remember one thing, if you remember nothing else--"difference does not mean wrong!"
