Fear: Man's only real enemy
(A Warning Or A Condemnation)
Fear is often considered to be many different things to many different people. On the one hand, fear is a passing emotion that is linked to a specific circumstance of the moment. In some cases, fear's effects are realized because of the presence of the emotion fear, and in other cases, fear's effects are realized because of the absence of the emotion fear. In either case, the experience is seemingly quite normal with respect to the situation, as a whole. However, this is not always the case.
From karma's point of view, fear (like so many other concepts that are far reaching), is a multi-continuum unto itself. The multi-continuum aspect of fear runs along many different veins of the fabric of an individual's illusion; and, it runs along many different veins of the fabric of an individual's unstable aspects of reality, including the goings-on of the waking states and the so-called sleeping states.
If we look a little closer at the fabric of fear, we will see that unlike all other continuums, there are multi-levels to this crossed continuum, wherein each of the different levels has two opposite points to consider; and, it is important to note that the two opposites may not seem to be connected, as we shall see.
On one of the multi-levels, the Continuum Of Fear has as its two opposite ends The Presence of Fear, and The Absence of Fear. It is important to note that The Presence/The Absence of fear in no way implies the intensity of what is present nor the intensity of what is absent. This level of the Continuum of Fear simply governs the degree to which The Presence/The Absence of fear governs the momentary situation.
The next level of the fabric of the Continuum of Fear deals with the intensity of what is present and the intensity of what is absent. On this level of the Continuum, the individual is dealing with a crossed continuum wherein one leg of the crossed continuum deals with the presence of fear, while the other leg of the crossed continuum deals with the absence of fear. In both cases, however, the opposite ends are as follows. On one end lies absolute, mind closing, mind shutdown fear, while on the other end lies total calmness, such that no fear is perceived at all (bear in mind that just because fear is not perceived during any given moment, does not mean that it is not there).
On still another level of the fabric of the Continuum of Fear, fear's effects are felt via the specific moment of an individual's A Happening. On this level, the continuum is also crossed. On one leg of the crossed continuum, we find the degree to which fear is attached to a specific experience (such as falling off a ladder), while on the other end, we find that fear is not attached to any particular experience. It seems to be misplaced, or unidentifiable within the experience of the moment. This condition could be moment related, or it could be a constant in the individual's life.
Still, on another level of the fabric of the Continuum of Fear, the Continuum has as its opposite point, Illusion at one end, and Reality at the other end. On this level of the Continuum of Fear, the individual's belief system (what the individual believes to be the limits of possibility within reality) come into effect as the individual's personality makeup makes its effects known. Other aspects of the individual's personality which come into effect are the individual's propensity towards being honest or dishonest with himself, the individual's level of education, and the individual's command of his chosen language. It is interesting that there is a negative correlation between the individual's command over the language and the control over the emotions which govern the moment; in that, the less command over the language, the greater control the emotions will have over the moment to moment affairs of life, and the reverse is true as well.
Fear, in and of itself, is the most misunderstood continuum which Man has to deal with. To some, fear is but an early warning system that modifies their behaviors during certain circumstances (I must not get too close to the edge, because I might fall off and hurt myself). To others, fear represents the thrill of danger (let's go to the circus and ride the ...).
From the other side of The Presence/The Absence continuum, fear, or in this case, the absence of fear, is a signal that all is as it should be, so, caution is not necessary--Examples:
"Come on, there is nothing to worry about. Don't be a party snag. There's nothing wrong with speeding, as long as the cops don't get you-- Look out for that guy on the motorcycle-- Oh, my god!"
Still, in other cases, the absence of fear might be the vehicle by which an individual could encounter Death--Examples:
"This weed is not strong enough. let's try some crack. Sally said that crack was the way to go, if you really wanted to get high."
"Sally? isn't she the girl that O.D.ed a few days ago?"
To understand the true nature of fear as a modifier, one need only look at one's own life. The Law Of The Moment is what orchestrates the modifier aspect of the continuum of fear in an individual's life.
While it is true that Death is the process of transferring one's awareness from one illusion into another, and, that it is fair to say that most people of today's world fear death, it would be difficult, however, to determine if that fear is a result of them not knowing what comes next, or if that fear is a direct result of the venom their religion used in an effort to control their minds. One thing is for certain. If an individual believed in The Continuity of Life as they believe in the continuity of the existence of energy, they would have no valid reason for fear--if energy cannot be destroyed... if energy can only be transformed, so, too, would it be for life's energy.
The Magi knows this deep within himself, because of his travels to other states of Creation. To a Magi, The Death Process is but the ending of the present experience within his respective illusions, as each illusion exits his present life's level of awareness; it is not a conclusion of his journey; it is merely a process of transferring his present life's energy (his Ba), into the physical body (the Ka) wherein he will have his next set of experiences (his next life). A somewhat simplistic explanation of The Death Process is not unlike the following.
Let us say that individual X lives in New York as a male; as such, he always wears a black suit (he wears that black suit because that's the suit he was born with). After a time, let's say fifty years, individual X's black suit is old, torn apart, and totally worn out; it is so worn out that it is now unfit to continue being worn.
Because individual X's suit is worn out and can no longer be used in New York, individual X must now move to another place; he has no choice in the matter because the laws of New York say that once the suit in which you were born becomes worn out, you must move out of New York.
Because of that crazy law, individual X decides to move to Florida. Alas, in the process of moving from New York to Florida, individual X finds out that he need not remain a male. So, X decides to move to Florida as a female.
Meanwhile, back in New York, X's old, worn-out suit (X's old, physical, dead body) is being disposed of by the members of what used to be X's family; since X moved to Florida as a female, X now has a new family. As a matter of fact, X probably has no memory of ever being X in New York, much less having a family in New York. She is now X in Florida with a new family. Needless to say, living in New York, in a black suit was, for X, life #1 while living in Florida, in a white suit, has become life #2. But, as in New York, X still has fear to deal with in her new Life's A Happening; and, some of the fear that was created in life #1 (while living in New York) followed individual X into her new life in Florida.
It must be remembered that Language, itself, is said to be the true creator of an Individual's awareness, of an Individual's illusions, and of an Individual's future. Remember the Law!
It is The World of Illusion which is the driving force for Reality; and, within that Reality, it is the level of observation which creates the phenomenon; and, within each phenomenon, it is the law of the moment which dictates the needs of the situation which bring forth the stage upon which we play our games; and, within these games, it is the interaction between the needs and the acquired needs of The Law Of The Moment which determines the roles we play in any given life; and, during any given life, it is the needs and the acquired needs of our dreams, of our hopes, and of our desires that will determine the interaction of the Six Points Of Power over our emotions within any given Illusion, to satisfy what we think we need; such that, we become the things that we hate, as we walk towards the things that we fear; and, with the satisfaction of our Illusions, The Magic Circle is fulfilled upon that level of experience..
It is written that Fear became the Guardian that prevented me from reentering my perfect state of Deluge. Yet, Still, I know that Fear is not my enemy! What then makes this difference? Since I know that Fear has no mind of its own, that Fear must only follow the law which governs it, where from comes this law that seeks to torment me from my acquired desires? It is written that it is I, and I alone, that rules my Destiny... Yet, I fear much of what I seek to do... Yet, I dare not fulfill the innermost dream, for fear of what I find lurking deep in the shadows of my mind... Still, who truly rules my Destiny? Is it the root of my own thoughts?... Nay, me thinks it is the Fear that warns me away from my Dark Side. Who can tell the truth of it? Karma, be you on my side when the time of the final judgment comes?
