Osiris
(The Mirror Of Man)

In the myths of ancient Egypt, Anubis had many jobs. Aside from being one of the three Graces (Isis, the giver of the thread of life, Ptoh, the governor over the quality of life, and Anubis, the cutter of the thread of life), he was also the ruler of the Land of Souls--the underworld... though there were some who believed that it was Osiris who ruled the underworld, the place wherein the members of the TwinSpecies: Human awaited their next experience upon the Astral Plane Of Common Reality's physical world.

According to ancient legends, Anubis spoke to the king of the gods when it was discovered that some people had to suffer being alive longer than was their allotted time... because Anubis was too busy... there was just too much for just one God to handle. To this, the king of the Gods granted Anubis a first minister to serve as judge over the many species of life-forms... wherein each species had its own first minister.

Osiris, because of his flair for compassion, became the first judge... the first minister in the Land of Souls who sat in judgment over the life-forms called Man. Originally Osiris was but a mortal brother to the new Goddess Isis. The following tells the tale of how Osiris became the first mortal Judge of Death:

"Long ago, before the heat of the sun warmed the planet, Osiris was king over Egypt; however, his brothers envied the crown. They cut his body into many pieces and hid them in different parts of the land.

"The King's sister, Isis, discovered the crime and gave herself to the King of the Gods... in exchange for temporary power over the powers of Death. For this gift, she promised to raise Man to meet his illusion, and there, trap him in the grip of The Grand Maya.

"Then, the new Goddess, Isis restored Osiris to the throne of Egypt. Osiris, being just, did not see his own pain; he saw only the pain of his murderers; Maya's greed had, indeed, bent the back of his brother Seth. Osiris saw not his own murder, he saw instead, the death of innocence in all Man, and, therefore, dealt fairly with his brothers. The judgment was so fair that Anubis, the god of Death chose Osiris above all others and set him judge over all men's souls."

One of the supposed secret meanings to the Osiris chapter is that it wasn't Osiris, himself, that was brought to life, but that Osiris was the symbol for all mankind... some believe this to be the true source for the tale of Cain and Abel.

During this time, there were, at least, two distinctly different interpretations given to the tale of Osiris... that of the new religion of Isis, believed by the priests of Amen Re, and that of the old religion of Isis, believed by those who still believed that there was a difference between Pharaoh and the King of Egypt.

In the new religion (a religion wherein the believers in the God Amen Re sought to separate themselves apart from the old ways... the ways that had governed Egypt long before Egypt had become a double-land... the ways that had governed Egypt long before a single crown rested upon the King's head... the ways that had governed Egypt during the time when Egypt was still a green valley), the believers in Amen Re accepted that Pharaoh and the King of Egypt were one and the same... they did not totally accept the duality that existed upon the Throne of Egypt.

To the believers of Amen Re, Isis, through the powers that she obtained from the Ruby of Life, restored her dead brother Osiris to life... but only long enough to gain a son... to take his rightful place upon the throne of Egypt. An important difference between the old and the new religion of Isis is that because Osiris, once again on the throne, dealt with his two murderous brothers fairly, the Gods, in making Osiris judge over all men in the land of souls, thus decreed by the God Anubis that after death, all men must go before Osiris to be judged... that Osiris was a prime OtherWorld Teacher during the In Between Time.

However, in the old religion, the believers of the old way accepted that Egypt was, indeed, representative of the duality of the Earth Experience... wherein the Continuum was the basic building block of planet Earth and the basic building block for the rest of the physical Universe.

Needless to say, it was well accepted by the believers of the old way that, like the powers of the unity of the duality of the continuum, the Throne of Egypt also reflected the unity of creation... in that, a divine duality rested upon the Throne of Egypt; albeit it rested upon the person who sat upon the Throne.

To reflect this duality, the believers of the old way knew one side of the divine continuum as being Pharaoh--Lighter of the Cosmic Way... Bringer of universal truths... Caretaker for the essence of the life-forms which he governed. Indeed, Pharaoh was the divine torch that lighted the way unto righteousness in the face of all Creation. Because of Pharaoh's special training, a training that began very early in childhood, his psychic abilities allowed Pharaoh to see... to know things that the common man could never come to know, left to their own limitations. It was this special psychic ability that soon caused the common masses to think that Pharaoh had a special connection with the ancient Gods... soon while all knew it was not truly so, Pharaoh became known as The Living God.

The believers in the old way knew that he who sat upon the Throne was not truly a God... but they continued the Title because it more truly reflected how much higher Pharaoh was to their common standing.

The believers in the old way also knew the other end of the sacred continuum as being the physicalness of the life-form who sat upon the sacred Throne of Egypt. Thus, in the unity of the duality, he who sat upon the Throne reflected the state of all who resided upon physical Earth... in fact, the believers in the old way knew two worlds--a dream world, wherein the laws of higher spirituality ruled the individual's future, and a physical world, wherein the dreams, the hopes, the aspirations, and the pain of being alive pulled at each's ability to satisfy the everyday needs of life--indeed, it was a savage, political world that could only be escaped by the Lord Death.

But, this was not the only difference between the believers in the old and the new religion. The believers of the old religion were of the nature to seek spirituality, wherein they were ruled by the concepts of Maat, Genesu, and honor; while the believers of the new religion were of the nature to seek political power, and the wealth that power brings.

The believers of the old religion... the believers of Ancient Gods of Egypt, accepted the truth that because Osiris became ruler of the land of men's souls, there was a partnership between she, Isis, the new Goddess, and Anubis, the Lord Death. The partnership caused a new set of laws to govern the nature of the cycles of Life and Death. Because of this new set of laws, it came into being that Death, as mortal man now knows it, no longer existed....

Isis decreed, by the power given her by the Ruby of Life, that each individual would have the illusion of death... the illusion that raises each man to meet his true destiny... thus, bringing into being the wisdom that had always been--the cycles of life and death, ever lasting.

It was believed by the believers of the old religion that after their present cycle of Life was over, all men must of necessity lose their consciousness... in that, each must swoon into their In Between Time... each must be taken by Anubis to this land of souls... and, once there, during a special state of being called The In Between Time, during a state of being wherein one is too dead to be called alive, but too alive to be called dead, each individual must become Osiris... each individual must judge themselves, using the values they believed to be true, using the values which they used to judge others of their kind. Over all, it was believed to be like a life and death cycle of evolution, wherein each gets an opportunity to try again.

In the old religion Osiris was but a symbol for the TwinSpecies: Human... the sub-species: Male and the sub-species: Female... or, perhaps a symbol for the state that Man enters into upon his death death process... wherein each man, upon dying, enters a special state wherein he passes judgment upon himself. That aspect of himself which judges is called Osiris. Each man is Osiris unto himself.

Still, the judgment has already been written via the powers of The Law Of The Moment. I am reminded of the triune aspect of The Law Of The Moment... each and every moment does, at the very least, three things as I live my desires unto Destiny... knew ye that the future is not unknown... as each moment ratifies my past choices... as each moment cares for the needs of now... as each moment writes the script that will condemn me to experience future's bind.

Indeed, it has been written with the deeds that the individual performed during his life, and thus, we are talking about Karma and its effects upon the cycles of Life.

It is written that it is I, myself who must judge me... for the sake of my deeds. But, it is said that in that judgment, I have become the mirror of myself... that I may look into my heart of hearts.

It is written that when my magic mirror judges me, the eyes that I see during the judgment are my own... for the sake of the deeds of Osiris. But, it is said that while those eyes are my own, they seem cold and uncaring... for the sake of my deeds... for the sake of my future.
